OREANDA-NEWSTransneft paid another five Kazakhstani oil companies for substandard oil. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the Kazakh company Kaztransoil.

“Within the framework of the signed agreements between Transneft PJSC and Kaztransoil JSC, speaking on behalf of 38 Kazakhstani oil companies on the issue of cost recovery for the shipment of about 699 thousand tons of substandard oil in the port of Ust-Luga, 5 Kazakhstani oil companies paid by PJSC Transneft. Earlier payments were made to 32 companies", the statement said.

In April - May 2019, an emergency occurred in the Transneft pipeline trunk pipeline system due to the presence of high concentrations of organochlorine compounds in the transported oil, which led to the shipment of about 699 thousand tons of substandard oil from Kazakh consignors to tankers in the port of Ust-Luga.

Kaztransoil JSC as the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the main oil pipeline acts on behalf of 38 Kazakhstan oil companies whose oil was contaminated in the Druzhba oil trunk pipeline system.
