Netflix will stream classics from Albert Brooks, voice of Marlin in 'Finding Dory'
OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2016. The real-life man behind Nemo's clownfish dad, Marlin, in "Finding Nemo" and new sequel "Finding Dory" may have a gruffer side than his sincere orange fish face suggests -- at least where Netflix's involved.
"I am not advocating kidnapping in any situation," said comedian and actor Albert Brooks in a YouTube video. "In this case, picking the right child from the right executive had a very good result."
That's the kind of humor you'll get from Brooks in his announcement that Netflix will stream seven of his films starting Friday. But don't expect to see Dory's bewildered face among the crowd. Brooks' live-action credits include "Lost in America" and "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World," as well as "The Muse," "Real Life," "Mother," "Modern Romance" and "Defending Your Life."
Brooks' classic films "have been a huge influence on American comedy," said Netflix Chief Content officer Ted Sarandos in an emailed statement. "We are proud to have our US Netflix members revisit these great works and to help introduce Brooks' comedies to the next generation of fans."
