SAP and FC Bayern Munich in the City that Never Sleeps
The excitement didn’t end there. Tuesday morning, FC Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng and the club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge traveled in style by way of helicopter as they enjoyed the skyline from above. Once they arrived, the team joined forces with SAP CFO Luka Mucic and CMO Maggie Chan Jones for the Opening Bell Ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange.
Prior to the ceremony, on behalf of SAP Mucic was presented with a commemorative picture frame that showcased SAP’s IPO ceremony in 1998. As the party made its way to the show floor, the building roared with enthusiasm and can be seen as a tribute to the success of the FC Bayern and SAP partnership.
MetLife Stadium hosted the International Champions Cup match on Wednesday evening. FC Bayern Munich played a tough game but lost 1-0 on a goal that came in the 79th minute by Real Madrid defender Danilo. The game gave the sold-out crowd a taste of the excellence European football has to offer as the two superpowers clashed on American soil.
SAP has helped the highly decorated FC Bayern Munich in their quest for excellence by providing the technology for a truly connected stadium and the platform to Run Simple.
