The ferry complex’s which is starting at the port of Kuryk will significantly increase transit traffic across the Caspian Sea
OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2016. The object of the program "Nurly Zhol" is ferry complex at the Kuryk port will give a powerful impact for the development of Kazakhstan transit-transport potential and will makes to realize the New Silk Road project. The general contractor of this project is LPP "Concern Naiza Kurylys."
The scale ferry quay from the Kuryk port and railway line Borzhakty - Ersai will provide multimodal transportation of general and liquid cargo, which will significantly increase export potential in a westerly direction through the Caspian Sea.
The new ferry complex at the Kuryk port serve five ferries per day, thereby ensuring the processing of goods in the amount of 4 million tons per year.
The approach line from Ersai station to the Kuryk port with the length of 13 km were paved by track panels in the length more than 9 kilometers.
In December 2016 it is planned to complete construction of the first part starting complex’s. It will provide technical and technological readiness of the ferry complex to send and receive cargoes through the Kuryk port.
Nowadays on the territory of the exhibition railway tracks the earthworks are completed, into disposal tip were exported 3.9 mln.m3 of soil.
To construction of West protecting structure 95 thousand m3 stone was delivered. Daily delivery is up to 2 thousand m3 stone. In the near future will start dredging in harborage with a capacity of 800 thousand m3. Intensively administrative and office buildings construct. The second part starting complex’s construction is planning in 2018.
