China has allowed pork supplies from Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The Main Customs Administration of China has allowed pork supplies from Russia. This is reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor.
They pointed out that the restrictions established in 2008 by the General Directorate for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China, no longer apply. Inspection and quarantine requirements for Russian pork exported to China will be formulated separately.
It is noted that the Russian department has been working since 2013 to ensure the admission of pig products to the Chinese market. This procedure included the negotiation process, the organization of visits by representatives of China to Russia to get acquainted with the work in the pig industry, and so on.
Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said that China is striving to increase cooperation with Russia in all areas and intends to achieve the goal of a record $200 billion trade turnover.
In July 2023, the consumer sector of the Chinese economy faced a decline in the overall level of prices for goods and services. The drop in the consumer price index was mainly caused by a drop in pork prices to 26 percent from 7.2 percent due to heavy rains that damaged supplies.
