OREANDA-NEWS  The prices of eggs in Russia are declining, in many retail chains they can already be found cheaper than the psychological mark of 100 rubles, a RIA Novosti correspondent found out.

For example, in the "Abc of Taste", a dozen eggs of category C2 are sold for 107 rubles, and due to the discount on online ordering, they will cost 75 rubles.

The Magnit website displays options for 86 rubles and 90 rubles for categories C2 and C1, respectively. And when ordering online through the Megamarket, this retailer even has goods for 54 rubles, and Pyaterochka has goods for 75 rubles.

According to Rosstat, eggs in Russia rose in price by 61.35% last year, and continued to rise in price in the new year, although much more slowly — from January 1 to January 9, prices increased by 0.8% on average across the country.

As Vladimir Putin explained, demand has increased, but production has not increased, in addition, the authorities did not orient themselves in time and did not open imports. Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev explained that prices are stabilizing due to the growth of domestic production and imports.
