OREANDA-NEWS Russia will share beef with Malaysia. Sergey Oganov, General Director of Lipetsk Meat LLC, announced preparations for deliveries to the Asian country, as quoted by the Izvestia newspaper.

According to the representative of the company, the manufacturer has now begun to undergo certification. The sale of Russian meat abroad, in particular to Saudi Arabia and other countries of the Persian Gulf, will depend on its success.

"We believe that this initiative will not only open up new opportunities for our business, but also help strengthen Russia's image as a reliable supplier of high-quality livestock products. Currently, the company is undergoing significant changes to meet the requirements of halal production," Oganov explained.

Today, Russia does not supply livestock products to Malaysia — so far, the countries have only drawn up preliminary agreements during the business mission of Russian exporters in 2022.

In 2023, Russia increased the supply of mutton abroad many times. Exports increased 10 times, to 10 thousand tons. At the same time, Iran became the largest importer of Russian mutton, and the UAE and Kazakhstan are also leaders in terms of purchases.

Representatives of one of the exporters stated that the Iranian market is of great interest to the Russian sheep industry. According to them, this direction can become significant for the supply of Russian products.
