OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian wine-making company "Abrau-Dyurso", after a five-year hiatus, resumes the supply of wines to the United States. The partner was Interbalt Fine Wine & Spirits, which has been importing alcohol to the United States for over 20 years.

Negotiations on the resumption of supplies to the American market began in 2020. The first batch of Abrau-Dyurso sparkling wines will arrive in US stores by the end of June.

An indispensable condition is the indication on the bottle label of the geographical name of the place of wine production, notes "Abrau-Dyurso".

According to the requirements for products presented in the United States, a prerequisite for the design of bottles is the indication on the label of the geographical name of the place of wine production. According to the company, in order to bring Abrau-Dyurso products to the market, the protected geographic territory (PGI) name PGI Kuban was registered in the register of wines permitted for distribution in the United States. In the future, this will allow other Russian wine producers, who will export their products to the United States, to indicate this region of production on their labels.

"Abrau-Durso" supplies wine to 24 countries, including Germany, Czech Republic, Britain, Hungary, Finland, Greece, Japan, India, the Baltic countries and the CIS. In 2019-2020, more than 2 million bottles of wine were delivered abroad.

"Abrau-Dyurso" has been producing sparkling and still wines since 1870.
