OREANDA-NEWS. Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport’s passenger traffic amounted to 1,018,295 people in January 2017, a number 29.8% higher than in the same period of 2016.

Domestic traffic increased by 24.2% compared to January 2016, to 681,341 passengers.

International traffic grew by 43% in January 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, and amounted to 336,954 passengers.

Pulkovo airport handled 10,828 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 20.7% to the level of January 2016. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 367,054 tons, a figure 20.4% higher than in the same period of 2016.

In the first month of the year, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, UTair and S7 became the largest Russian carriers in terms of traffic volume at Pulkovo. In total, they serviced 687,516 passengers at Pulkovo, or 67.5% of the total passenger traffic from St. Petersburg in this period.

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, Emirates, Uzbekistan Airways, and KLM became the leaders at St. Petersburg airport in January of 2017. In total, they serviced 78,309 passengers at Pulkovo during the month, or 7.7% of the total airport passenger traffic.
