1. The basic prerequisites for the development of transit potential of the region

Despite the economic slowdown, the Eurasian countries are developing a number of strategic initiatives to find ways of economic growth and the creation of favorable terms of trade in the region (China - the Silk Road Economic Belt or the EAEU countries - pairing of Union and the economic belt, Kazakhstan – formation of Kazakhstan as Eurasian transport and logistics hub).

According to experts in 2020 is expected increase by 1.5 times of the volume of trade only between China and Europe (2014 - $ 811 billion, 2020 -. $ 1.2 trillion.)

Given these trends, the potential growth volume of trade flows between China, Russia, the Gulf states and the European Union, a new architecture of transcontinental transport corridors is establishing.

In Kazakhstan, at the state level attaches great importance to the implementation of the transit potential and the establishment of the country as Eurasian logistics hub.

Number of government programs has been adopted: Nurly Zhol, the Plan of the Nation 100 steps, which tasked with two fold increase in the volume of transit through the territory of the country by 2020.

2. Developed infrastructure as a basis for transit growth and development of transport corridors

Kazakhstan formed the optimal configuration of the railways, which allows to provide effective transport solutions in the global supply chain in the direction of China, Europe, North-South and Trans-Caspian route.

Over the past 6 years 1 700 km of new railway lines were built.

In the Caspian Sea work is going on the development of Kazakhstan's capacity from 16.5 million tons to 25 million. Tons per year of transshipment through the expansion of the port of Aktau and construction of ferry complex Kuryk.

Consolidation and distribution centers are created both within the country and abroad for the formation of transit traffic passing through Kazakhstan.

The company has a terminal infrastructure in the Chinese port of Lianyungang, implementing projects in the Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas in Iran, in Iranian Inchiburun dry port and in the Baltic region.

The new logistics infrastructure allows to strengthen the integration not only for Kazakhstan, but also for all countries of the 1520 track with China, Europe, Iran and the Gulf States to increase the competitiveness of the transcontinental an alternative sea routes.

Our plans to increase by 2020 the transit container traffic between China - Europe – China in 16 times from the current 47.4 thousand TEU to 800 thousand TEU.

3. Kazakhstan railways - transport and logistics integrator and multimodal operator

Kazakhstan Railways is transportation and logistics operator, under the control of which are the main transport Kazakhstan assets, such as marine and dry ports, TLC, airports, that allowing to provide a full range of multimodal transport and logistics services.
