OREANDA-NEWS. Volaris (NYSE: VLRS And BMV: VOLAR), the ultra low-cost Mexican airline which operates in Mexico, the United States and Central America, becomes the first Mexican airline to receive the prestigious Low Cost Leadership Award (LCL Award). This recognition is granted annually by the international magazine Airline Business to the management teams who have demonstrated excellence when operating a low-cost airline.

The award, which was granted in London, England, is part of the Airline Strategy Awards, an initiative, which under the guidance of a panel of world-renowned judges, recognizes outstanding achievements in the global aviation industry. The initiative highlights the performance of individuals and airlines that have demonstrated a successful vision in their growth and expansion.

The criteria that led to the recognition of Volaris was: its innovative business model, its high growth rates, rigorous cost control, integrity in their production processes, and the processes to increase revenue through auxiliary channels.

Holger Blankenstein, Chief Commercial Officer of Volaris, highlighted the relevance of this kind of recognition as a high achievement: "For Volaris this award is more than an indicator to measure operations performance and people's perception of the company. It is an incentive that motivates us to continue innovating and keep challenging the aviation standards, while staying true to our vision and mission at Volaris".

Volaris operations and development are based on three pillars: safety, customer service and a low cost business model. These are the foundations of a solid structure that fulfill the purpose of bringing together family and friends, while offering the lowest rates in the market.

Since 2002, the Airline Strategy Awards distinguishes the best global companies in the industry in seven different categories: Airline Business Award; Low Cost Leadership Award; Regional Leadership Award; Executive Leadership; Finance; Marketing; Technology, and Environment and Operations - all of this to recognize the fundamental role of talented management in shaping the success in the aviation industry.

This type of recognition reinforces our business-model and purpose. We are successful when we offer our customers the best flying experience, with the lowest prices and the most flexibility in their travel plans.
