OREANDA-NEWSThe remains of passengers of the missing Chilean Air Force aircraft en route to Antarctica were found in the aircraft search area. This was reported by the radio station Cooperativa with reference to the head of the Magallanes region, Jose Fernandez. According to him, the Republican Air Force confirmed that "fragments of the plane and the remains of people who were on board were found".

As Fernandez noted, the remains have not yet been delivered to the continent. The search operation continues. According to the head of the region, in the area from where the crew last contacted, "an airplane wheel, part of the chassis and fuselage" were also found. Earlier, the Chilean Air Force reported that debris was discovered in the search area that could be related to the missing plane.

The Hercules C130 military aircraft, carrying 38 people on board, flew Monday at 16:55 local time (22:55 Moscow time) from Punta Arenas to the Antarctic base named after President Eduardo Frey Montalva. Searches for important debris are currently underway.
