OREANDA-NEWSFive special tropical-type cars made in Bashkiria, Cuba were handed over by representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia during a visit to the island by the first deputy director of the department, Anatoly Rudogo. As the correspondent of the Russian media reports, the transfer ceremony and discussion of cooperation issues took place on Wednesday in the territory of one of the penitentiary institutions in the vicinity of Havana.

Special vehicles assembled on the basis of KamAZ trucks are equipped with air conditioning in the driver’s cabin and in a body designed for transported prisoners, a video surveillance camera and a dry closet, which greatly facilitates the long-distance transportation process. According to the workers of the Cuban prison service, the equipment will be used for transporting convicts between the colonies located in different provinces of the island. The Cuban side received the current party at no cost.

“The cars were partially assembled at the enterprise in one of the colonies in Bashkiria. An agreement was reached last year, then we handed over two similar cars on the basis of the GAZelle. Later, our Cuban colleagues made a request for the other five special vehicles that we delivered today”, - said the media Anatoly Rudy. According to him, further prospects for joint work depend on the Cuban side.

“Colleagues also asked us to provide them with two pairs of German shepherds for breeding. During the last year’s visit, our cynologists brought them, and, according to our Cuban friends, the dogs adapted to the tropical climate without any problems”, the agency’s representative said. “And on the whole, there is a normal comradely dialogue and exchange of thoughts between our penitentiary systems. I liked the professional and indifferent attitude of the Cuban colleagues to their work".
