OREANDA-NEWS  More than 700 trucks drove over the Crimean bridge in the first eight hours of Monday from the moment they were opened to traffic on the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait.

"On October 1 from 00:00 to 08:00 on the Crimean bridge passed in total 706 trucks, including on Taman - 324 trucks, in Kerch - 382 trucks ", - it is told in the message. The information center noted that the most common type of cargo vehicle at that time were road trains with a total weight of more than 30 tons - more than 560. Also, almost 80 road trains with a total weight of more than 15 tons and 56 with a total weight of more than 35 tons passed over the bridge.

Temporary restriction of movement of trucks weighing over 3,5 tons from the moment of input of the Crimean bridge in fact worked not on the transport transition, and on road approaches to it, both from Krasnodar Krai, and from the Crimea.

The restrictions were related to the stage-by-stage start of traffic on these sections of the route and the need to ensure safe through passage of vehicles during peak loads during the high holiday season. Exceptions were provided for freight transport of builders of the Crimean bridge and the Federal highway "Tavrida".

Earlier, the head of Rosavtodor Roman Starovoit told TASS that by the opening of the bridge for trucks, experts not only laid the necessary layer of asphalt on the road, but also equipped stationary inspection complexes, which have already been put into operation.

Starovoit noted that the infrastructure of the bridge and approaches to it "is prepared for the reception and comfortable safe movement" of cars and trucks. The specialists of the Agency, focusing on the flow of goods through the Kerch ferry, guess, that morning on the bridge can pass the order of 700 trucks and more.

The road part of the bridge, which connected the Crimean Peninsula with other regions of Russia, opened on May, 15 with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On May, 16 on the bridge started traffic. At the first stage, the bridge was opened only for cars and passenger buses, the movement of trucks was prohibited until October. Construction of the railway across the Strait continues, the opening is planned in 2019.
