OREANDA-NEWS  Presidents of Ukraine and Belarus prayed for peace
In the course of the working visit to the Republic of Belarus, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited Church of St. Michael together with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The two leaders prayed for peace and prosperity of Ukrainian and Belarusian people.

The divine service was conducted by prior Alexey. He called the meeting of the Presidents a remarkable event.

Bishop of Turov and Mozyr Leonid who also welcomed the Heads of State near the church presented “The Lord's Supper” icons to the Presidents as a symbol of unity and harmony of Christians. The Head of State presented “The Savior of Chornobyl” icon to prior Alexey and recalled the events that took place 31 years ago. He noted that the aftermath of Chornobyl disaster was overcome due to the mercy of God.

The President also had a conversation with local residents, thanked for a warm welcome on the land of Belarus and noted that Ukrainian and Belarusian people are absolutely unique in their hospitality.
