OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian structure of the Italian UniCredit, Unicredit Bank JSC, has decided to sue another foreign subsidiary of the banking group, the German division of UniCredit Bank GmbH. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the court's ruling.

According to the lawsuit filed with the Moscow Arbitration Court, Unicredit Bank wants to recover almost 175 million euros (more than 17.3 billion rubles) from the defendant. We are talking about the debts of UniCredit Bank GmbH under three counter—guarantees - from September 9, 2021 in the amount of about 12.4 million euros, from July 2, 2021 in the amount of about 8.1 million euros and from June 24, 2019 in the amount of about 145.8 million euros.

At the same time, the credit institution also wants to collect interest for late fulfillment of obligations. The bank filed a lawsuit on April 19, and the court scheduled the first preliminary hearing in the case for June 14.

Earlier it became known that according to the results of the first quarter of 2024, banks owned by non-residents became one of the leaders in terms of net profit among Russian credit institutions. Raiffeisenbank (a division of the Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International) was in sixth place with a profit of 32.5 billion rubles for the first quarter. UniCredit Bank took the seventh place in the top 10, its financial result is 20.1 billion rubles.
