OREANDA-NEWS Through implementing the “Nurly Zhol” state program more than 100 thousand jobs were created in 2016. This was reported by the Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov at the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The Minister of National Economy reported that in his annual Presidential Address the Head of State gave positive assessment of the “Nurly Zhol” state program. Today it is the main driver of economic growth, giving a strong impetus to road construction, housing, and social services.

Within the framework of the “Nurly Zhol” state program 2016 saw the creation of more than 105 thousand jobs. By the end of the year, 469.6 billion tenge were used for special-purpose transfers. Incomplete application of funds is mainly due to savings on public procurement.

The development of the road sector in 2016 was funded with 151.3 billion tenge, which were applied in full. Through these funds construction and road works were executed for 611 kilometers of roads.

As a result, traffic opened on the following routes: Astana – Temirtau, Almaty – Kapshagay, Astana – Petropavlovsk. This year will see continuing work in this direction.

56.4 billion tenge was allocated for development of logistics infrastructure, which were applied by the quasi-public sector in full.

Thus, the allocated funds allowed completing construction and finishing work of the new Astana airport terminal, internal engineering networks, and to ensure the supply of technological equipment.

In addition, during last year’s Industrialization Day the Head of State authorized the launch of the largest financial instruments of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”. That is the construction of the second railway on the route Almaty-Shu and ferry service at the port of Kuryk, which positively impacts the export-transit potential of Kazakhstan and will open a way to Europe and the Middle East.

In addition, within the framework of the state program particular attention was paid to developing infrastructure in the field of education, particularly the total elimination by 2018 of schools in emergency conditions and three-shift education. Currently, 52 facilities are already introduced, including 35 schools and 17 kindergartens.
