OREANDA-NEWS  Russian hockey player of the Winnipeg Jets Vladislav Namestnikov could not finish the fourth match of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche after hitting the puck in the head and was taken to the hospital, said the head coach of the Canadian club Rick Bowness.

The incident occurred in the 47th minute of Sunday's match. Namestnikov found himself in the path of the puck after a throw by teammate Nate Schmidt. The Russian was able to get off the ice with the help of doctors and went to the podium to the applause of the fans.

"Vladislav is in the hospital now. That's all I can tell you. The doctors will see what's wrong with him," Bowness said after the match at a press conference broadcast on the Jets' YouTube channel.

The match ended with a victory for Colorado with a score of 5:1. The Avalanche increased their advantage in the series to four wins (3-1). Namestnikov scored one goal in four matches.
