OREANDA-NEWS. President Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe.

Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for Japan’s unwavering support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, inter alia, in the framework of the presidency of Japan in G7.

The President noted lack of progress in Donbas as Russia still supplies heavy armament to the occupied territories and Russian militants continue shelling.

The leaders of the two states condemned human rights violations in the occupied Crimea and agreed to coordinate positions within the international organizations, inter alia, the United Nations.

Petro Poroshenko welcomed the position of Japan regarding the preservation of the policy of international sanctions against the country-aggressor. In this context, Shinzō Abe underlined the importance of fulfilling the Minsk agreements.

The parties discussed the priorities of trade-economic and investment cooperation. The Prime Minister of Japan upheld the reforms of Ukraine and noted leadership of the Ukrainian President in that issue.
