OREANDA-NEWS  An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 occurred in Tajikistan near the border with the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China, the Seismological Center of the People's Republic of China reported.

The tremor was recorded at 03:37 Moscow time. The hearth lay at a depth of ten kilometers, and its epicenter was about 82 kilometers from the border with China.

There have been no reports of damage or casualties yet. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, tremors with a force of two or three points were felt in Alma-Ata. 

The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan announced an earthquake of magnitude 4. According to the press secretary of the department, Umeda Yusufi, the epicenter was in the Vancha district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, 400 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe. Tremors of magnitude 2 were felt in the capital of Tajikistan.
