OREANDA-NEWS. The European Union will provide Moldova with financial assistance amounting to 15 million euros as grant. In this respect, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn today signed a financing agreement between the Moldovan government and the European Union on programme supporting public administration reform in Moldova. The event took place in the context of the European Commissioner’s visit to Moldova.

The general goal of the agreement is to consolidate institutional capacity of the central and local public administration in Moldova in order to elaborate and enforce comprehensive policies and to ensure effective delivery of high quality public services, in line with the European principles of public administration.

The agreement will be implemented within six years, in accordance with the provisions of the reform strategy on public administration for 2016-2020. At the same time, the agreement is meant to increase the public administration capacities for meeting commitments derived from the Association Agreement with EU.
