OREANDA-NEWSThe court in the United States decided to reject the suit of the National Committee of the Democratic Party associated with the alleged "interference" of Russia in the 2016 presidential election in the United States. This is stated in the documents of the district court in the New York district of Manhattan, published on Tuesday.

"The court considered all the arguments provided by the parties. Some of the arguments have controversial content or no value. For the reasons described above, the second corrected complaint of the National Committee of the Democratic Party is rejected", the document states. Earlier, a lawyer, Michael Kervin, representing the interests of the election headquarters of Donald Trump, filed a request in the court of New York.

On April 20 last year, the National Committee of the Democratic Party filed a lawsuit, in which the Russian Federation, the General Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, the president of the Crocus Group Aras Agalarov, the vice president of the Crocus Group Emin Agalarov, and Wikileaks, the US president were indicated as respondents. Donald Trump, his son Donald Trump Jr., the former head of the Republican election campaign, Paul Manafort, his business partner Richard Gates, and Trump's former adviser on his campaign headquarters, George Papadopoulos.

The plaintiffs argued that members of Trump's headquarters collaborated with representatives of the Russian Federation and WikiLeaks to undermine the election campaign of ex-candidate of the Democratic Party in the 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton. According to the Democrats, the computers of the National Committee of the Democratic Party were hacked for this purpose, and the stolen information was made public. This supposedly helped Trump win the election, they argued.
