OREANDA-NEWSMoldovan President Igor Dodon discussed with the Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov a conflict in the parliamentary coalition, which could provoke the resignation of the Maya Sandu government. The head of the republic wrote about this on Thursday on his Facebook page. “In the context of the domestic political situation in the Republic of Moldova, he reiterated the commitment of the presidential administration to preserve the current parliamentary majority and the Moldovan government. 

The conflict arose around the election of the new Attorney General. According to the constitution, he is appointed by the president of the country on the proposal of the High Council of Prosecutors. On the eve of Sandu, she said that she herself would propose to the High Council of Prosecutors the choice of two candidates, since the commission organized by the Ministry of Justice had failed in this task. Before that, the government, on its own responsibility, introduced floats to the law on the prosecutor's office.

The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, which formed a parliamentary majority with the Party of Action and Solidarity Sandu and the Platform "Dignity and Truth", doesn't agree with the actions of the government.
