OREANDA-NEWSThe United Kingdom will continue to play a leading role in resolving critical international issues after it leaves the EU. This was announced on Monday by Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, opening a new session of Parliament.

"After the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, my government will do everything necessary to ensure that the country continues to play a leading role in international affairs, protecting its interests and imposing its values", her Majesty said in a throne speech. My government will be at the center of efforts to address the most important issues related to international security, it will uphold the freedom of international trade and, together with foreign partners, will respond to major global challenges. They will fight climate change and ensure access to quality 12-year-old education for girls around the world".

Her Majesty also stressed that the British Cabinet “will continue to invest in the development of the Armed Forces” of the country, and will also spend at least 2% of GDP on defense.
