OREANDA-NEWS   The Estonian Security Police (KAPO) confirmed the arrest at the request of the United States of a Russian citizen Vadim Konoshchenko, who is suspected of purchasing military and dual-use products for the Russian Federation in circumvention of sanctions, Postimees reported on Wednesday.

"KAPO detained Vadim Konoshchenko, who lives in Estonia, at the request of the American Ministry of Justice on December 6, and he is awaiting extradition to the United States. Konoshchenok, suspected of working for the FSB, allegedly transported items of American origin from Estonia to Russia, such as electronics and cartridges for sniper weapons," the report says.

The US Department of Justice said on Wednesday that five Russians and two Americans face up to 30 years in prison in the US if found guilty of large-scale purchases of military and dual-use products for the Russian Federation bypassing sanctions. Of the seven suspects in the organization of the Serniya underground procurement network, three were detained, including Russian citizen Vadim Konoshchenok, who is awaiting extradition to Estonia, four Russians remain at large.
