OREANDA-NEWSThe United States misinterprets Russia's position on the Venezuelan issue, or even misrepresents it, exposing Moscow in a negative light. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in an interview with a Spanish newspaper.  So, in May, in an interview with CNN, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo claimed that the Russian authorities persuaded Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro not to leave the country. Ryabkov categorically rejected "any discussions of this kind between Moscow and Caracas" and accused Washington of spreading "information that has nothing to do with reality".

“We see a constant flow of information from the United States, which misinterpret our position or even offer erroneous information to the international community,” the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said. “It’s not just a question of an erroneous assessment of where Russia is, what it does or what it wants. It’s an attempt to give Our country is the image of a bad boy in the classroom".

"We are concerned about the continuous" melody "from Washington, where they talk about all possible options for resolving the crisis in Venezuela and that nothing can be ruled out", said a high-ranking diplomat. "It deliberately creates a sense of uncertainty about what is possible and what is not in terms of US participation".

“Venezuela has become one of our most important partners, not only strategic, but also allied”, Ryabkov stressed. According to him, in Moscow they sincerely appreciate the way in Caracas support the Russian Federation on a wide range of topics. The crisis in Venezuela became aggravated after the opposition leader Juan Guaydo, whose appointment to the post of Speaker of Parliament two days earlier annulled the Supreme Court, on January 23 of this year, declared himself acting president.
