OREANDA-NEWSRepresentatives of the German economy oppose new restrictive measures against Russia. This was stated by the chairman of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce Matthias Schepp in an interview with the German News Agency, excerpts from which were published on Friday. "Even in the most difficult periods of the Cold War, the German economy was a stabilizing factor in relations between the two countries", he said. "New sanctions do not lead to a reduction in tension or a reduction in confrontation".

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with representatives of the German business on Friday. Current German projects and planned investments will be discussed. "President Putin doesn't meet with businessmen from other countries in such an exclusive format and as regularly as with businessmen from Germany", Shepp said.

According to DPA, the head of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce urged to abandon hasty conclusions on the murder of a Georgian citizen in Berlin. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Federal Republic of Germany said earlier that “state authorities” of Russia could be involved in this crime. The investigation isn't completed yet.
