OREANDA-NEWSYulia Yuzik, a journalist and ex-candidate for State Duma from Dagestan, was detained in Tehran, her passport was seized. This was reported to the Russian media by her former husband Boris Wojciechowski. The information is confirmed by the Russian radio station with reference to the coordinator of the movement of observers of Dagestan Ruslan Magomedov.

The detention of the journalist is already involved in Russian diplomats. The fact that Russian diplomats are involved in the situation was reported by the press attaché of the Russian embassy in Iran. On Julia Yuzik’s Facebook page, a message was posted on behalf of her daughter stating that on October 3, the woman was able to reach her mother. The trial of the journalist, the report said, should be held on Saturday. “She knew that such a situation could happen, but she went”, her daughter wrote.

Wojciechowski told the media that in recent years, Yuzik worked as a freelancer, collaborated with a number of publications, including the GQ magazine. She also worked as a correspondent in Tehran at the invitation of a local publishing house. In 2003, she wrote the book “Brides of Allah” about suicide bombers from the Caucasus, and she also authored the book “Beslan Dictionary” about a terrorist attack in Beslan in 2004.

Yuzik repeatedly appeared in the media as an expert on Iran. So, in 2015, she commented on the arrival in Moscow of General Kassem Suleimani, the commander of the special forces unit “El-Quds” as part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The head of the IRGC intelligence service, Hossein Tayeb, announced on October 3 this year that a conspiracy to kill Suleimani was revealed, Tasnim reported. Israeli security services accused of involvement in the conspiracy in the IRGC.
