OREANDA-NEWS. Potentially dangerous asteroid 163348 (2002 NN4), which size is estimated at 250–570 meters, will approach the Earth on Saturday, June 6. It is reported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, USA).

It is known that the astronomical body will fly at a minimum distance from our planet on June 6 at 3:20 UTC. Specialists note that the asteroid will pass near the Earth 13 times further than the orbit of the Moon. At the same time, the asteroid is considered to be potentially dangerous, since its trajectory intersects the Earth’s orbit.

The asteroid 163348 was discovered in 2002. It makes one revolution around the Sun in about 300 Earth days.

On May 14, it was reported that the comet named SWAN approached a minimum distance to the Earth. It is located 84 million kilometers from our planet, in the Southern Hemisphere it can be observed with the naked eye.
