OREANDA-NEWSRussian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will meet on Tuesday in Moscow with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Kanel.

The Cuban leader arrived in Russia on a working visit on October 27, he spent the first two days in St. Petersburg. Dias-Kanel visited the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery, where more than half a million residents and defenders of the besieged Leningrad rest, and laid flowers at the foot of the Mother Motherland monument. On Monday, he met with Mayor Alexander Beglov to discuss cooperation.

According to the Kremlin’s press service, Putin and Diaz-Kanel during the talks in Moscow “will discuss the prospects for further strengthening the Russian-Cuban strategic partnership in various fields, as well as current issues on the international agenda”.

The press service of the Russian Cabinet added that at a meeting between Medvedev and Diaz-Kanel, topics will be raised on the implementation of the agreements reached following an official visit of the Russian Prime Minister to Cuba in early October. In particular, it's planned to consider pressing issues of Russian-Cuban cooperation in trade, investment, energy, industry, transport, agriculture, humanitarian and other fields.
