OREANDA-NEWS. Philippine authorities expect Russian President Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit next year. This was announced on Friday at a meeting with Russian journalists by the head of the department of public relations of the Philippine Presidential Administration Martin Andanar.

“We hope that Putin’s visit will take place next year”, he said. According to him, the recent visit of the Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte to the Russian Federation "was very productive". Andanar also noted that between the countries "there are several agreements on cooperation, including in the field of agriculture, medical industry, infrastructure projects".

Duterte visited Russia from October 1 to 5, this was his second visit to the Russian Federation, during which the fourth meeting with Putin took place. The President of the Philippines also attended a meeting of the Valdai Club in Sochi, a Russian-Philippine business forum, and met with the Philippine community.
