OREANDA-NEWS Russia is convening a meeting of the UN Security Council on the "Arria formula" on unilateral coercive measures in the fight against terrorism, said Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the organization Maria Zabolotskaya, reports TASS.

The meeting is scheduled for February 20. "A number of developing countries are facing this serious problem [terrorism. — RBC] on a daily basis," Zabolotskaya stressed.

According to the UN handbook, the Arria Formula is an informal and confidential meeting of the Security Council members. Representatives of States may privately conduct a "frank exchange of views using a flexible procedural framework", as well as invite speakers.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow would submit to the UN Security Council a missile strike on Belgorod, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted on the afternoon of February 15.

The Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of 14 shells fired from the RM-70 "Vampire" MLRS. According to the latest data, seven people were killed, including a one-year-old child, and 18 others were injured. Zakharova called the shelling "another act of terrorism."
