OREANDA-NEWSRussian Ambassador to Estonia Alexander Petrov was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, where he was handed a note in connection with an alleged violation of the republic’s airspace by a Russian plane. This was reported to a Russian media correspondent on Thursday at the embassy.

"On June 10, Russian ambassador Alexander Petrov was invited to the Estonian Foreign Ministry, where he was informed of a violation by the Russian plane of the country's air border on the morning of the same day and a note was handed over in this regard", the statement said.

On Wednesday, the Headquarters of the Defense Forces told BNS that the Russian Ty-204-300 aircraft allegedly entered into Estonian airspace near Vindloo Island without permission on Wednesday morning and spent less than one minute there. The aircraft transponder was turned on, there was no flight plan, the department claims. The plane did not communicate via radio with the Estonian traffic control service.
