OREANDA-NEWS.Slovakia opposes the establishment of barriers and abuse of sanctions in relations between Europe and Russia. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.

“Slovakia is an integral part of the European Union and understands certain difficulties in the development of relations between the European Union and Russia, but Slovakia has its own opinion and its own view on the development of relations with the Russian Federation and always openly represents them. Only dialogue, mutual cooperation is the only way to develop relations and Slovakia emphasizes that barriers and sanctions should not be abused", he said.

The Slovak prime minister added that "you always have to sit down at the negotiating table". “Today’s visit is a clear signal that Slovakia will continue constructive, promising and well-developing relations with Russia”, he said. Pellegrini assured that Slovakia intends to continue the positive relations that have developed in recent years.

He is also convinced that this trend will continue in subsequent years. “Our economic cooperation is becoming more positive, and I would be glad if we could continue it”, the Slovak prime minister added.
