OREANDA-NEWS The European Commission (EC) has launched an investigation into the AliExpress e-commerce platform owned by Chinese technology giant Alibaba due to concerns that the company is not taking adequate measures to prevent the spread of illegal goods and illegal content on the Internet, the regulator said.

"AliExpress strives to create a safe and compliant market for all consumers," said a company representative, quoted by CNBC. According to him, the company "has worked and will continue to work with the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with current standards" and meet the requirements of the DSA.

This is the third official investigation by the European Commission within the framework of the DSA. Earlier, similar actions were taken with respect to the service for creating and watching short videos of TikTok and the social network X.
