OREANDA-NEWS At the Foreign Ministry, sanctions against Russia are considered illegal, and the extension of economic restrictions against the country, as reported by the European Union today, is “non-constructive games.”

So said the deputy director of the department of information and press in the Russian diplomatic department, Artem Kozhin.

“We did not initiate sanctions. That is their business, ”Kozhin added.

The EU Council on June 27 officially extended the economic sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2020. Restrictions will apply in the financial, energy and defense sectors.

In relation to Russia, there are also sanctions imposed after the annexation of the Crimea, which in the European Union is considered illegal annexation. They were extended until June 23, 2020.
