OREANDA-NEWS. President of Moldova Maia Sandu said on TV8 that she is ready to visit Russia if she receives an invitation from the Russian side. According to Sandu, this meeting would allow discussing various issues.

The Moldovan President clarified that "she is ready to go to Russia, especially since they have topics for discussion on the agenda, which relate to trade, exports, the Transnistrian conflict is also on the country's permanent agenda."

Maia Sandu spoke about her work plans. She is going to pay an official visit to Kiev next month, after which she will go to Brussels.

Sandu became President of Moldova in the second round of direct elections. According to the CEC, she received the support of 57.75 percent of the citizens of the republic who voted.

During her presidential campaign, Sandu announced that she was choosing the European path of development for Moldova. At the same time, she promised that she intends to develop relations with all strategic partners of the republic, including Russia. Cooperation, she said, should be based on the national interests of Moldova.

It is reported that the ex-President of Moldova Igor Dodon believes that the situation in Moldova with the election of a new president will not improve, but, on the contrary, may worsen.
