OREANDA-NEWS The new United States sanctions package against Russia will enter into force on August 26, according to a directive from the US Treasury Department.

It is noted that before this time, a period of notice of Congress should pass in accordance with the law on the control of chemical weapons.

As previously reported by the media, on August 2, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the introduction of a second package of restrictive measures against Russia in connection with the Skripals affair.

It was reported that the second package of US anti-Russian sanctions was to enter into force on August 19. The new package of restrictive measures will be valid for at least 12 months.
