OREANDA-NEWS Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina said that an iron curtain will appear between Russia and the Baltic States. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

At an event in Washington, Silina stressed that an iron curtain would be created between Russia and the Baltic States. "We understand that in the future an iron curtain will be created between the Baltic states, Russia and Belarus," she said.

At the same time, the prime minister acknowledged that Latvia faces problems in ensuring independence from Russian oil and gas.

Earlier, Estonia reported on the possible occurrence of bunkers on the border with Russia and Belarus. According to the Minister of Defense of the Republic Hanno Pevkur, citizens will be able to use defensive structures for economic purposes, including storing potatoes there.
