OREANDA-NEWS State Duma deputy Amir Khamitov proposed to introduce partial state regulation of prices for flowers. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

"Seeing the high demand for any product, they inflate prices to unaffordable… In such a situation, partial government regulation of pricing can help. Let's say we introduce a rule: the trade premium for the most popular consumer goods cannot be more than 10 percent," Khamitov said, commenting on the price increase ahead of March 8. The parliamentarian noted that he sees a complete lack of respect for the needs of customers.

As an example, Khamitov cited the situation at the Riga market in Moscow, which is one of the most popular places for selling flowers in the city. Here, sellers raised prices by 30-40 percent before the holiday.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Alexei Govyrin gave advice on how to store tulips so that they stand for two weeks. According to him, it is better not to keep flowers next to fruits and put them in the refrigerator overnight.
