OREANDA-NEWSThomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said how much the organization would cost to postpone the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

“The IOC expects additional costs of several hundred million dollars, this is already clear”, the German edition of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung quoted Bach as saying. He noted that the final amount cann't be calculated yet.

The head of the IOC specified that in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection, the transfer of the Games was the only right decision. At the same time, Bach emphasized that the option to postpone the competition for two years instead of one was considered impossible from the point of view of the organizing committee of the competition.
