OREANDA-NEWS Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Alexander Volkov has signed a new contract with the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC). This was announced by his manager Ivan Bannikov in a conversation with TASS.

Bannikov did not disclose the details of the deal, but spoke about the athlete's next opponent. "There are still a lot of fights. As I have already said, there are two important issues in the heavy division. We need to wait for an answer. Who will win the fight [John] Jones — [Stipe] Miocic and what the new or old champion will do with his career," the manager said.

On September 10, Volkov was stronger than Australian Ty Tuivasa in the second most important match of the UFC 293 tournament. The Russian defeated his opponent in the second round with a choke hold.

In total, 34-year-old Volkov has 37 victories with 10 defeats in mixed martial arts. The Russian has been competing in the UFC since 2016.
