OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2016. Marc Serr, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced an infrastructure investment of \\$33,000 to help rehabilitate and complete enhancements to the St. Charles Community Arena.

Specifically, this funding will be used to modernize the arena's water system to ensure proper flow, treatment and heating so the facility is safe and well positioned to meet the future needs of the community.

  • The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments across Canada will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.
  • FedNor is delivering this program in Northern Ontario with an allocation of \\$10.4 million over two years, ending March 31, 2018.
