OREANDA-NEWS  In yet another move to expand strategic partnership close on the heels of PM and Defence Minister's visit to Russia, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is on a four-day visit to Moscow during which she will address lower house of Parliament or Duma.

Mahajan is leading a delegation consisting of Members of Parliament from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The Indian Speaker will have meetings with the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Heads of the different factions of the State Duma.

The Indian Parliamentary delegation will attend the Fourth Meeting of the India-Russia Parliamentary Commission. The Third Meeting was held in India in February 2015.

The two sides are expected to discuss further strengthening of cooperation between their respective Parliaments and Legislative bodies within the framework of their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, enhancing of trade, economic and cultural cooperation bilaterally and within BRICS, SCO, and the Eurasian Economic Union, and role of parliamentarians in enhancing regional peace and stability, especially in the fight against international terrorism.
