OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

The key attention was focused on the opportunities of intensification of the investment activity of American companies in Ukraine, as well as on the development of bilateral trade, particularly in the context of expansion of exports of Ukrainian commodities to the United States.

The President informed the American party on the course of reforms in Ukraine and the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities aimed to improve the business climate in the country and create proper conditions for the foreign companies.

Resolute steps on the improvement of the judicial system, customs and tax bodies’ functioning were also pointed out.

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce expressed interest in the expansion of business activity of the American companies in the Ukrainian market and noted Ukraine’s progress over the recent years.

The Head of State also informed the Secretary of Commerce on the plans of privatization in Ukraine and noted the opportunities for the appropriate involvement of American investors.
