OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with the Ambassadors of the Visegrad Group countries on Wednesday, June 8. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine Henryk Litvin, Charge d'Affaires of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine Heinrich Sasai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine Erno Keshken and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Ivan Po?uch. The sides discussed the aspects of enhancing cooperation and the Government's plans regarding the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Groysman informed that the Government was committed to carrying out reforms. He recalled that recently the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a Plan of priority actions by the end of 2016, which defines the priorities for its activities.

In particular, the Government will focus on achieving macroeconomic stability and creating conditions for the sustainable economic growth, promoting the improvement of the business environment, carrying out judicial reform, combating corruption and improving the quality of governance. Also among the important areas of the Government’s work - civil service reform, deregulation, public privatization and competitive appointment of the management of state-owned enterprises. We will see soon the completion of reorganization of the controlling structures and the launch of the e- Declaration of income and assets of officials.

One of the key reforms the Government is working on is the reform of the Customs Service of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman noted. In this context, he called for exchange of information on movement of goods between the customs authorities of the countries. "There are schemes of gray smuggling, which are harmful both for us and for you," he said.

The Prime Minister reminded that the day before the Parliament adopted the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine in the judicial sector. He welcomed this decision of the Parliament that "allows us to reboot both the system and judges."

Another priority of the Government is the ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, European integration and visa-free regime with the EU. Volodymyr Groysman informed that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had established the position of Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine met all the obligations stipulated by the Action Plan as to visa liberalization for Ukraine, and is looking forward to a positive decision of the European Union. "This is not about the Ukrainian authorities but Ukrainian citizens," he said. Volodymyr Groysman also thanked the Ambassadors of the Visegrad Group countries for their support for liberalization of the EU visa regime for Ukraine.
