OREANDA-NEWS. Bloomberg agency reported, citing sources, that Indian authorities are trying to “push” Moscow to accelerate the supply of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 because of the aggravation of relations with China.

The publication says that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who arrived in Russia, will deal with this issue. Earlier it was reported that during the three-day visit, the politician plans to meet with Russian colleagues to discuss the deepening of the defense and strategic partnership.

In 2018, Moscow and New Delhi signed a contract for the supply of five complexes S-400 worth more than 5 billion US dollars. In addition, the media wrote that India planned to purchase 33 Russian fighters.

Last week, a clash between Indian and Chinese military occurred in the Galwan Valley in the disputed area of Ladakh. Several dozen servicemen died. Beijing and New Delhi blamed each other for what happened. Later, the foreign ministers of the two countries agreed to reduce tensions at the border as soon as possible.
