OREANDA-NEWS. Because of the coronavirus epidemic, the Ukrainian government has decided to extend till May 11 quarantine measures, which were initially imposed until April 24.

This was announced on April 22 by Prime Minister of the country, Denys Shmygal. “When making the decision, we relied on a modelling of analysts from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and data from the Ministry of Health indicating that the peak morbidity can occur in early May,” the politician explained on the Telegram channel.

A nationwide quarantine was introduced from March 12. On April 6, restrictive measures were tightened: the authorities forbade more than two people to gather on the street in groups, with the exception of cases of escorting children. Residents are banned to walk in parks and on embankments, visit sports and playgrounds. It is required to wear personal protective equipment and to carry identity documents when leaving a house.
