OREANDA-NEWS A combat readiness check has begun in the Armed Forces of Belarus, the Ministry of Defense of the republic reported on the Telegram channel.

During the inspection, the movement of military equipment is planned, the authorities may impose a temporary restriction on the movement of civilian transport on public roads and terrain areas.

As the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense Viktor Gulevich, noted, the Belarusian army pays great attention to combat readiness due to the NATO exercises Steadfast Defender — 2024 near the borders of the republic.

Last week, the Secretary of the Security Council, Nikolai Naryshkin, said that at the beginning of the exercises, NATO is working out a scenario of an armed confrontation with Russia, which increases tension and destabilizes the situation in the world.

In turn, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIA Novosti that exercises of such a scale as the NATO—led Steadfast Defender - 2024 increase the risks of military incidents, but Moscow cannot be intimidated by such provocative demonstrations of force.
