OREANDA-NEWS. The reluctance of Russians to get vaccinated against COVID-19 is due to the peculiarity of the mentality, lack of knowledge, mistrust of the authorities and opinion leaders, as well as an incorrectly built information policy in the state. In an interview with URA.RU, this opinion was shared by the general director of the KEG contract research company, immunologist, candidate of medical sciences Nikolai Kryuchkov and epidemiologist, candidate of medical sciences Alexander Vygonaylov.

“The basic dock-like reason is occult thinking, plus a lack of education, a pronounced distrust of the authorities and their statements, doctors, action from the position of the Russian“ maybe ”. And a covid story - the initially failed information policy on COVID-19, when media personalities did not hide their negative attitude towards vaccination and coronavirus, one week there are some statements, a week later they are opposite, measures are introduced and canceled - as a result, people think that it is not so everything is scary, ”Nikolai Kryuchkov explained.

Positive stimulus measures can help change the mood of Russians, according to the immunologist. “In our state, there is a system of“ carrots ”and“ sticks ”, but when“ hitting, ”full control is impossible and citizens learn to get out. We need a set of positive measures, stimuli, which can be really introduced, ”Kryuchkov stressed.
